On-Time Turnarounds

Plant Shutdown & Turnaround Maintenance Contractor

As a plant shutdown contractor, we execute planned shutdowns and plant turnarounds on schedule: multi-trade crews of fitters, welders, electricians, riggers, and supervisors mobilised when you need them, demobilised when you don't.

Shutdown & Turnaround Maintenance

A shutdown compresses a year of maintenance into days — and every extra day is lost production. ISOCHEN SAFETY mobilises complete turnaround crews: millwright fitters, certified welders, riggers, electricians, instrumentation technicians, and experienced supervisors who work to your shutdown schedule, permits, and safety plan.

Because we maintain a large deployed workforce and active talent pool across India, we can scale a shutdown crew quickly, with verified certifications, safety induction, and full statutory compliance — then demobilise cleanly when the plant restarts.

Mechanical Works

Equipment overhauls, alignment, bearing and gearbox replacement, piping modifications, and structural repairs.

Welding & Fabrication

Certified MIG/TIG/ARC welders and fabricators for piping, structural, and equipment repair work.

Electrical & Instrumentation

Panel servicing, motor overhauls, cable replacement, loop checking, and instrument calibration support.

Rigging & Heavy Lifts

Trained riggers for equipment removal, positioning, and installation during shutdown windows.

Cleaning & Inspection Support

Confined-space trained crews for vessel cleaning, catalyst handling support, and inspection assistance.

Supervision & Reporting

Shift supervisors, daily progress reporting against the shutdown schedule, and manpower management.

How We Run a Shutdown

1. Scope and manpower plan

We go through your job list, shutdown schedule and permit requirements, then propose the crew by trade and shift, the supervision ratio, and the documents your site gate needs: ID, medical fitness, trade certificates and induction records.

2. Mobilisation

Travel and stay for the crew, gate passes, site safety induction and toolbox talks are completed before the first permit is issued, so work starts on day one of the window.

3. Execution in shifts

Crews work to your permit-to-work system in day and night shifts. Supervisors report manpower and progress against the shutdown schedule every day, and flag delays or extra work the same day.

4. Demobilisation and handover

Work areas are cleared, tools and materials returned, attendance and timesheets reconciled, and wages, PF and ESI settled for the period before the crew leaves site.

Typical Shutdown Work We Staff

Shutdown job lists differ by plant, but most of the work falls into a few trades. These are the jobs our crews are most often asked to cover:

  • Pump, compressor, gearbox and fan overhauls, including bearing and seal replacement
  • Heat exchanger opening, bundle handling and cleaning support
  • Valve removal, replacement and reinstatement with flange make-up
  • Piping modifications, spool fabrication and welding
  • Tank, vessel and duct internal cleaning by confined-space trained crews
  • Structural repairs, platforms and supports
  • Motor, panel and cable maintenance; instrument removal, calibration support and loop checks
  • Rigging for equipment removal and reinstallation inside the shutdown window

What to Send Us for a Quote

A complete proposal comes back faster when the first message covers these points. Send what you have; we will ask for the rest.

  • Shutdown start date and planned duration
  • Plant location and the units or areas involved
  • Job list, or the scope split by trade (mechanical, welding, electrical, instrumentation, rigging)
  • Shift pattern: day only, or day and night
  • Who provides accommodation, transport, tools and consumables
  • Site safety requirements such as work at height, confined space and hot work

Why Choose ISOCHEN SAFETY?

  • Rapid scaling: Crews of 10 to 100+ mobilised from our deployed workforce and verified talent pool.

  • Clean demobilisation: Full statutory compliance (PF/ESI) and documented handover at the end of the shutdown.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much notice do you need to mobilise a shutdown crew?

For crews up to ~30 personnel, 2–3 weeks; larger turnarounds are best planned 4–8 weeks ahead. Urgent support can be drawn from nearby deployed teams.

Do your welders hold qualification certificates?

Yes — welders are tested and certified for the applicable processes and positions, with test certificates provided before mobilisation.

Can you work under our shutdown contractor or PMC?

Yes — we regularly work as a manpower and execution partner under principal contractors, PMCs, and owner maintenance teams.

What safety systems do your crews follow?

Your site permit-to-work system, plus our own induction, toolbox talks, PPE enforcement, and HSE supervision on every shift.

Do you supply only manpower, or take a complete work package?

Both are possible. We can supply crews that work under your supervision, or take a defined work package with our own supervisors. Scope, tools and responsibilities are agreed in writing before mobilisation.

Can the crew work round the clock during the shutdown?

Yes. Crews are split into day and night shifts with a supervisor on each, so work continues through the shutdown window.

How are statutory compliances handled for the crew?

Every crew member is on our payroll with PF, ESI and insurance. Attendance and wage records are available for your contractor compliance checks.

What does the price of a shutdown crew depend on?

Crew size and trade mix, duration, shift pattern, plant location, and whether accommodation, transport and tools are in our scope. Send the scope and we return a proposal.
